Today, more than ever, being ecofriendly is incredibly important. By recycling, not wasting electricity and other precious resources, and being conscientious of our carbon footprint, everyone tries to do our part for the earth.
If you’re thinking of remodeling with lumber, you need a sustainable hardwood supplier you can trust will use green resources for every project. Here at Peterman Lumber, we prioritize sustainability in almost all of our operations.
1. We shop smart.
All wood isn’t created equally. When it comes to sourcing the lumber we use for our hardwoods, softwoods, and other lumber, we only buy wood that has a certification from the Forest Stewardship Council or FSC. This wood was produced in ecofriendly ways so our staff and customers can feel good about their purchasing decisions.
2. We quarter-saw our own wood.
We appreciate the value of trees, and we make sure you can still see the rings and patterns of the wood when we cut it by quarter-sawing. Not only that, but by taking care of this duty ourselves, we don’t have to outsource. That means a smaller carbon footprint since we don’t have to worry about wood delivery.
3. We don’t waste materials.
Here at Peterman Lumber, every single product we manufacture has wood in it, from our melamine surfaces (with a hidden wood base) to our moulding, wall panels, and even the REHAU cabinet doors we offer. That means fewer wasted materials.
Now that you know how eco-friendly we are, we encourage you to reach out to us here at any of our three Peterman Lumber locations: in Phoenix, AZ; Las Vegas; NV; and Ventura County, CA. Since 1969, Peterman Lumber has provided lumber and hardwoods for clients across the country. We have a showroom where you can see our many species of hardwoods and softwoods on display.
